Maxwell Refuses to Testify on Epstein, Clemency Talk Rejected by White House

Ghislaine Maxwell, who helped Jeffrey Epstein in trafficking of minor girls, refused to answer the US House committee. She escaped from this with the help of her Fifth Amendment right. Under this amendment, an individuals can remain silent and incriminate themselves.

Lawmakers wanted to ask her questions about Epstein’s crimes, possible powerful co-conspirators and Epstein's links to President Donald Trump.

Republicans expressed frustration while Democrats are saying that Maxwell was waiting for this opportunity to use this amendment to request for the reduction in prison time.

Maxwell says that If Donald Trump granted her clemency, she would speak. But White house confirmed that no leniency is being discussed.

The Epstein's survivors warned congress not to trust Maxwell and opposed giving her any special treatment.

Meanwhile, the US Justice Department released millions of files and Congress members can see unredacted files.
